My new serial, Lake Ephemeral, has just been released 🙂

Link: Amazon

As a whole, the series is a little bit chilling, a little bit romantic and quite a bit sci fi. I hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoyed writing it! Thanks SO much to my beta readers: Katie, Liz, Brenda, Linda, Amber and Kira for their help with this story!! The beautiful cover is designed by the talented Wesley Souza.

From my newsletter:

Orphan, Seraphin Ferron, arrives at the valley of Lake Ephemeral as a child. At first the valley seems like a place of wonder and freedom, but she soon discovers its dark underbelly.

Lake Ephemeral is being released in 5 short episodes (each approx. 50 pages)
It will initially be released on Kindle (Amazon) ONLY (the first 3 months).

Watch out for a release blitz and giveaway of 5 volumes of episode 1 on Saturday 23rd August at A Literary Perusal

I’ve loved writing this story! It’s deliciously eerie. It’s very different to the Dollhouse books (but readers of that series will notice some similar themes). The focus of the story is on the mystery and sci fi aspects, but being that Seraphin grows to age 18 in the story, later volumes will include some romantic/sexual situations and the story as a whole is suitable for readers 16+

The story:
Seven manors surround Lake Ephemeral, and their residents are hiding terrifying secrets.
Eighteen-year-old Seraphin Ferron first arrived at Lake Ephemeral as an eleven-year-old orphan, to meet a mother she’d never known she had.
At first, the valley seemed a wild place of wonder and liberty. The five children who lived here were free to do as they pleased. Children with intense eyes and wild hearts, including the boy with the wildest heart of all—Kite.
But Seraphin soon discovers that the vast estate is plagued by an exotic, massive species of carnivorous plant—named the Coffin Flower, capable of consuming humans.
No one can answer Seraphin the riddle of why the residents stay at Lake Ephemeral year after year or why no one ever leaves. When she finds out the secret of the mysterious seventh manor, she knows it’s time to flee.
But the lake is not prepared to give up one of its own so easily.

If you haven’t caught up with news on Lake Ephemeral before, this is the first discussion with readers about it.

It’s being released in serial format of five parts (each episode around 50 pages) at a price of $1 per episode. Initially, I was going to do it in six parts and set the first episode free, but as it could take a long time to do this (Amazon only sets a book as a price match and only at their own discretion – a process which can take many months) I’ve decided to make each episode longer and release it in 5 parts (keeping the total cost to $5).

I apologise to Apple, Nook and Kobo readers that I won’t be releasing to these distributors for at least the first three months. This was a difficult decision, but I have a much better chance of setting Volume 1. free at Amazon, Apple and Kobo in coming months if I release at Amazon only first. (I can’t set a book free at Nook at all.) I wish all distributors would allow you to set a book free from the start, but unfortunately it doesn’t work like that.

For those who prefer reading the whole story in one sitting, I will 100% be releasing it as a single volume at the end 🙂
